#04: Norma Hayward obituary

NORMA A. HAYWARD, 72, of Datchet died suddenly on Friday, August 24, 2007. Visitation hours will be held Tuesday evening (August 28) from 5:30–8:00 at Baines Funeral Home. Services celebrating her life will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (August 29) at the Datchet Congregational Church.

A Massachusetts native, Mrs. Hayward grew up in Malden where she worked as the school nurse at Hudson Middle School. After her retirement in 1999, she moved to Datchet where she took up residence in the childhood home of her husband.

While she mostly kept to herself in the last few months of her life, Mrs. Hayward had been an active member of the Datchet Senior Center, the Datchet Congregational Church Food Pantry, the Central Massachusetts Garden Association, and was the organizer of many blood drive campaigns around the area.

She is survived by her sister Adele Manchester of Providence, nephew Charles Manchester and his wife Karen of Tacoma, niece Susan Kelly of Attleboro, and five great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gregor S. Hayward and her son Richard H. Hayward.
